Microsoft today announced a new system update for Xbox One that brings Arena on Xbox Live for Killer Instinct, a new Party overlay, and other new features.

“As part of this update, gamers will be able to start competing in Killer Instinct tournaments through Arena on Xbox Live on their Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, as well as create their own Killer Instinct tournaments in their Clubs,” a Microsoft representative told me today. “The update also includes a new Party overlay for Xbox One owners that displays the Gamertag of who’s speaking in your Party, and the Dolby Access app will arrive soon on Xbox One, which enables Dolby Atmos audio through supported AVRs and sound bars.”

Looking for Group posting notification. Now, posting in Looking for Group (LFG) is easier than before thanks to a new notifications feature that alerts you when anyone you follow has created a new LFG post.

Clubs on Xbox Live and Beam integration. Clubs on Xbox Live now helps game broadcasters and viewers find each other via a new Beam tab in Clubs.

Party overlay updates. You can now overlay the speaking Party members’ names on-screen, even when the Guide isn’t displayed. You can also configure the overlay’s position and transparency.
