Windows 10 Tip: Share Tabs in Microsoft Edge

Posted April 9, 2017 | Microsoft Edge | Windows | Windows 10

In the Windows 10 Creators Update, Microsoft Edge lets you share a single tab, or a group of tabs, with others using a new Share interface.

Note: This tip is derived from the Windows 10 Field Guide, which is now being updated for the Windows 10 Creators Update.

To share the current tab, find and select the Share toolbar button.

To share a group of tabs, you will first need to set them aside as described in Windows 10 Tip: Declutter Microsoft Edge by Setting Tabs Aside. Then, select More (“…”) and then Share right above the group of tabs you wish to share.

Either way, the system Share pane will appear, letting you choose the app you wish to use.

When you do, the new Share window appears, allowing you to choose from the compatible installed apps on your PC. Here, for example, you can see that I can share the current page via the Mail app, Cortana Reminders, or OneNote.

Note: In previous versions of Windows 10, Share was conducted via a Windows 8-style pane on the right side of the screen.
