With Microsoft launching a new Surface Pro today, most previous generation Surface Pro 4 models are predictably already available at a nice discount.

The savings vary by model:

Surface Pro 4 with Intel Core m3, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD. Now available for $699, which is $100 off the normal pricing.

Surface Pro 4 with Intel Core i5, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD. Now available for $849, which is $150 off the normal pricing.

Surface Pro 4 with Intel Core i5, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD. Now available for $999, which is $200 off the normal pricing.

Surface Pro 4 with Intel Core i5, 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD. Now available for $1399, which is the same as the normal pricing, so skip this one.

Surface Pro 4 with Intel Core i5, 8 GB of RAM, 512 GB SSD. Now available for $1399, which is $200 off the normal pricing.

Surface Pro 4 with Intel Core i5, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB SSD. Now available for $1799, which is the same as the normal pricing.

The sweet spot here, as always, is that Core i5/8 GB/256 GB model, which is now $200 off at $999. That is the one I would buy with my own money.

Note, however, that you will still need to buy a Type Cover, for $129 to $159, depending on which one you choose.

Looking over new Surface Pro pricing, it appears that each model costs the same as the comparable previous generation model. However, these new devices do not come with Surface Pen.
