Microsoft today released Windows 10 Insider Preview build 16199 to the Fast ring, adding Android call notifications and My People and gaming improvements.

This build trails last week’s drop, build 16193, by a bit under a week. As you might recall, that build was the first to offer a peek at Story Remix, a new feature of the Photos app.

This build, however, offers several interesting additions and improvements. They are:

Android call notifications. Windows 10 users with Android handsets can now display cross-device call notifications. “The next time you receive a call, a notification will appear on your Fast ring PC telling you who it is and giving you the option to text back a reply or decline the call,” Microsoft’s Dona Sarkar explains. You enable this feature in Settings > Sync Notifications, Microsoft says (but I think they’re missing a step.) Obviously, this is huge.

Story Remix clarification. This wasn’t obvious last week, but it appears that only certain Insiders are getting the Photos app update that enables Story Remix functionality. This is by design. “Story Remix is being rolled out to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring as part of A/B testing,” Sarkar says. “A/B testing is a scientific method to prove the causality of a change on the observed impact … We should have been more clear about this up front last week when we announced Story Remix so we apologize for the confusion.” That said, most Insiders should now have access to this functionality.

My People improvements. The My People feature has been updated to support the sending and receiving of emojis, notification badges on taskbar icons, and drag-and-drop sharing.

Game improvements. The Game settings interface (in the Settings app) has been updated to support audio-only game broadcasting (via Beam). And the Audio settings interface in Game Bar has been renamed to Game DVR settings.

Settings improvements. The Settings app now offers system health information in About (System > About), video tips, and an improved Storage Sense.
