Microsoft Planner is Now Available on Android and iOS

Posted May 31, 2017 | Android | iOS | Microsoft Planner | Mobile | Office 365 | Windows

Microsoft announced today that its new Planner companion mobile app for Office 365 is now available on both Android and iOS.

“The Microsoft Planner mobile app is now available on iOS and Android,” a Microsoft representative told me. “Planner customers are now able to use this companion app to view and update their plans on the go, and in the coming months, the team plans to add push notifications, the ability to create new plans for the mobile app and integration with Intune.”

Microsoft previously announced that Planner would become generally available to its Office 365 commercial customers as part of the June updates for that service. (It’s available now in preview form.) Today’s announcement concerns the companion mobile apps.

Put simply, Planner is the new tasks service for Office 365 customers, and you can get started on tasks.office.com. It requires an Office 365 Enterprise E1–E5, Business Essentials, Business Premium or Education subscription.

The mobile apps work as expected: You can view and update your plans on the go, and as noted, new features—like push notifications, plan creation, and Intune integration—are coming soon. If you have a specific feature request, Microsoft is listening, too: Just visit the Microsoft Planner UserVoice website.

You can download Microsoft Planner for Android from the Google Player Store.

You can download Microsoft Planner for iOS from the Apple Apps Store.
