Microsoft Announces Xbox One X, Coming November 7th
The wait is finally over, Microsoft has revealed the final name for the Xbox Scorpio and the company will be calling the next-gen console Xbox One X. The announcement was made during the company’s E3 event being held today in Los Angeles.
The company says the device will be released on November 7th worldwide. This should put to bed the fear that many expected the company to roll out the release like they traditionally ddo with hardware but that’s not the case here; Microsoft has not yet officially detailed all of the launch regions at this time.
This Xbox is also the smallest Xbox the company has ever created as well. Considering that the heat output from the CPU will be much higher with 4k resolutions, the company is using cooling techniques typically used on servers for the CPU which includes liquid cooling.
As expected, the company says that all peripherals will be backward and forwards compatibility and of course, all games will work forward and backward as well.
Microsoft’s E3 event is on-going, I will update this post when and if they announce pricing along with any other important details.
